Sneaking in Extra Seating Solutions!

When you love to entertain, it’s important to always have room for an extra chair. In this month’s blog, we’re showing you all the ways we added extra seating into this Dalhousie home without sacrificing any space or beauty!

In the Kitchen: Island Seating

By adding seating at the side of this square island rather than directly across from the sink, you still get clear sight lines into the living room! A great location to set up kids to help with meal prep or for a friend to sit and “supervise” your cooking.

In the Living Room: Chairs by the fire

This seating room already features two sofas, but there’s always room for another to stop by in this home. Placing two chairs by the fire gives extra room for another person or two to join without getting in the way of that gorgeous fireplace!

A bonus touch we love: the nesting side tables!

Dining Room: Banquette Seating

If you’re someone that regularly has a crowd over, banquette seating might be for you! It’s a functional design feature that also allows for a lot of your personality to shine through in the decoration and styling. Not only does banquette seating take up less space, you can also get extra storage space underneath! That’s a win in our books!

In the Bathroom: Hidden Vanity Chair

No, we’re not going to suggest you add an extra seat across from the toilet for socializing. The extra gap in this bathroom could have been used for extra cabinetry but by leaving it open, we had the space to add a stool for a vanity station. So perfect for doing your morning makeup routine!

This is why we believe in being conscientious about your home design and creating a space that suits your family’s needs! Want us to help create your family’s dream home? Click here to get in contact with us!
