Making the Most of your Bathroom

3 Things to Consider During your Bathroom Renovation

In a small space like a bathroom, it’s easy to get overwhelmed if it doesn’t work for your family’s needs.

We want to create rooms that will last your family for years to come and can shift to your ever-changing needs.

In this month’s blog, we’re running through the top three things you should consider while preparing for your bathroom design and renovation.

  1. Who’s going to clean all this?

One of the most important things you should be considering while designing your bathroom is how you are going to care for and maintain it. This is going to look different for every family. If you regularly have a cleaner coming in to take care of the details, your bathroom might not match that of a busy family who is sharing cleaning duties. We want you to love your space for years to come, and don’t want you to dread having to do cleaning and maintenance.

2. Where is everything going to fit?

Even in the most luxurious of bathrooms, we’re often faced with limited storage space. Consider who will be sharing this space and what each person needs to use the space successfully. Planning this early in the design stage can help influence the design and storage solutions. Here are just a few items you should consider that might need storage in your bathroom.

  • Towels

  • Bath Robes

  • Blow Dryer and Hair Straighteners

  • Skin Care Products

  • Toothbrushes and Toothpaste

  • First Aid

  • Makeup

3. How does this work for my family?

Every bathroom is going to look different depending on who is using it. Even in your own home, you’ll have different needs for your ensuite bathroom than for the one your kids share daily.

For example, let’s look at this stunning bathroom! Not every family needs dual sinks (it’s another thing to clean) but that extra counter made for an excellent space to set up a hair and makeup counter.

What about your family? Do you need a full bathtub for little kids or a seat in the shower that’ll grow old with you?
