Small Home Details - that Just Make Sense!
After over 30 years in the home building industry, we’ve had the opportunity to see hundreds of home builds and renovation projects! So many kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and even a VR golf room! We’ve picked up some tips and tricks over the years that we think would incorporate well into any home. Here are some of the extra touches in our home builds and renovations that tie these projects together!

Pull out Breakfast Bar
One of the things we love about this home is the pull-out breakfast bar! Everything your kids need to start the day, all in one convenient location so they can help themselves.
While a pull-out breakfast bar isn’t possible (or necessary) in every home, drawers can make kitchens much easier to use. They enable you to see everything at once and stop items from getting lost in the back of a cupboard.
Fireplace Wood Storage
We all love a wood-burning fireplace, but often see that wood storage hasn’t been considered. For this home, we wanted to include some space to store firewood. This awkward space between the fireplace and the wall looked like the perfect place to add it in! We had a blacksmith produce the rods to protect the wall beside the fireplace. The wood can now be stacked in the home for easy convenience.
Bonus Shelf in Kitchen
We love a lot of the details in this kitchen but the small shelf running along the wall is one of our favorites! This ledge is perfect for keeping oils and spices at hand while leaving the counter space free.
Privacy Shutters in the Bathroom
What do you do when you want a lot of light in a bathroom but don’t want to get exposed to the whole street? Frosted glass is an easy fix but we’re a fan of these privacy shutters! They let you look outside without letting the world into your home. And they aren’t just a solution for the bathroom! These would work great in a bedroom or any other room in your home!
