LET'S TALK WALL TRENDS!

Changing up the walls is one of the easiest ways to transform a room. However, when you’re faced with hundreds of paint colours and wallpaper swatches, the task of choosing one or two can seem a little daunting. Here’s a couple of the tips and trends we think you’ll find useful when making a major design change in your next home project!

Don’t Get Overwhelmed by 50 Shades of White!

You may think that having already chosen a white cabinet or tile would make your life easier. Just pick up any shade of white at the store and you’re good to go? Actually, different tints of white come with undertones that might clash with your backsplash.

Our Tip: always compare a paint sample against your selected pieces in natural lighting to ensure they’ll work together in the space!

Make a BIG Impact in Small Spaces with Wallpaper!

With small spaces like bathrooms, it seems like a fine line between creating a boring space and one that’s much too busy. That’s why we’re in love with these accent walls! They create some visual intrigue without consuming the entire room. It’s basically art that doesn’t take up counterspace!

Flowers not your thing? Want something not quite as bright? We used a muted herringbone pattern in this Dalhouse Bathroom that is less intense but still adds some intrigue to the wall!

Trends Coming in 2022…

We always maintain that you should create a home that will stay in style for decades, not just a year. But we can find a lot of inspiration from the companies that live and breathe paint!

Benjamin Moore recently declared “October Mist” to be the 2022 colour of the year! We’re in love with this shade and think it’s a great tone to lay the foundation for a calm and joyful home.

For another perspective, paint company Sherwin Williams predicts Bright Retro Colours, Warm Earthy Tones, and Maximalist Stand out colours being on trend!

The main lesson we can learn from this is to take the bits and pieces you like from others, and use them to create your own unique space that you can love to live in for years to come!
