BEFORE RENOVATION
Kim A - Home Owner
How/why did you pick Crafted Edge Homes?
I met Michelle at a home & reno show in 2017. She was one of the few home builders that took the time to discuss plans and options for my upcoming home purchase. Further conversations with Michelle and Todd gave me a sense that I would be a valued customer and that I was going to be treated as an individual.
What was your experience like?
Enjoyable but stressful. Getting a customized home renovation done is a long process. Surprises popped up along the way that I was not expecting, and at times I was worried that I would not love my house or get what I wanted, but everyone at Crafted Edge was patient and worked with me to find solutions that made my home amazing. Crafted Edge worked with me every step of the way, keeping me up to date on the progress of my house and updating me on the budget. The updates even continued when I was out of the country for several weeks during the building process.
Which room in your home gave you the biggest challenge?
The kitchen! I had my heart set on having an island in my kitchen and it was only after demolition on the home interior that it was discovered an island was not going to be a good idea. I appreciate being given drawings of what my kitchen would look like with an island. This showed respect for my vision of the house but also allowed me to see why it would not work out. I also had issues with the down rods on pendant lights. The rods were too long causing the lights to hang too low for my taste. Once again I was provided with a customized solution to keep the lights I wanted, but to have them hanging exactly how I wanted. The kitchen is now my favourite room in the house.
How was the process during the renovation?
I liked being able to have access to my house during the entire process as it allowed me to see the progress. If any questions or concerns arose during the renovation I always received a quick response. This is one of the best parts of working with a company that gives individualized attention, I never got lost in the shuffle. I was also impressed with how clean the job site was kept.
Favourite part of your renovation?
Getting to move into my new house.
Service after the renovation was completed?
Michelle and Todd have been here for me since I moved into my house at the end of 2018. The team came back after a year to touch up issues found as promised. Michelle and Todd have helped me address any issue with my house that has arisen, like getting me access to a plumber when my hot water tank froze up during a cold snap in the winter. Crafted Edge is the first place I call if I am looking for help with my house, even if it's just for a consultation.
Any final comments or stories you’d like to share?
I love my house and I am so grateful to Crafted Edge for making it look better than I could have imagined. I get compliments about it all the time. The quality of the workmanship and materials used in my house means that it will look amazing for years.
